LOCATION IN GERMANY
Every year, more than 1.2 billion alkaline batteries are produced in the Swabian municipality of Dischingen, which are then distributed in over 100 countries across the globe. The 400 employees working in the plant, certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and 14001, ensure the smooth running of production and packaging.
Over 400 employees are employed at the head office in Ellwangen, which is home to the International Distribution Centre and all administrative departments, such as sales in Germany, IT, accounting and finance as well as international marketing and logistics. VARTA Consumer's European head office is based in Sulzbach.

The astronaut's camera was equipped with VARTA batteries, and therefore successfully passed the operating test on the moon.
